• The Institute for Trauma-Informed Public Safety & Education is a New York State domestic not-for-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization founded by Monica Brooker, Ph.D., and Gregory I. Mack, Ph.D., to advance the understanding, prevention, and mitigation of adverse childhood experiences, secondary/vicarious trauma, and moral injury among public safety and education professionals. Through applied research, training, leadership development, and organizational consultation, the Institute integrates trauma-informed, neurocognitively grounded, and ethically driven practices into public safety and educational systems. Guided by trauma science, emotional intelligence, organizational justice, and meaning-making leadership, the Instituteequips agencies and institutions with evidence-informed tools to cultivate healthy workplaces, strengthen community trust, and promote humane, accountable, and sustainable systems.
